L'arquitecte Xavier Busquets era amic del pintor Pablo Picasso i, quan va guanyar el concurs per construir la nova seu del Col•legi d'Arquitectes de Barcelona, va tenir una idea: demanar-li una obra per a la façana.
The architect Xavier Busquets was a friend of painter Pablo Picasso, and when he won the contest to build the new headquarters of the College of Architects, had an idea: ask for a work for the facade.
